Inspiration

Alfred Wolfsohn´s method was born of his desperate search for relief from the lingering effects of traumatic experiences (suffered during the First World War). In 2001, Sven Doehner, having learned that much of what makes an experience traumatic is that there has never been an empathic witness to what happened, allowed his Junguian / Archetypal sensitivity to recognize that the “secret” – the psychological aspect – of the Voice is that beyond expressing something… it presents, when listened to, opportunities for oneself to bear witness to oneself, and for being touched, moved, transformed in some way.

Through tone, the Voice expresses what we feel about what we say. Therefore, working with the Voice implies working with the emotions. Truly discovering the vocal form of what one is feeling in the moment of expressing it can be an alchemical experience, to the extent that the reality of having heard the sound incites something deeply inner to change its form.

As an agent of movement and transformation, the Voice dissolves and crystalizes, bringing out the power inherent to sound itself, to dissolve knots, open spaces, and gives new form to felt experienced things, possibly things not yet imagined.
