This Sound Imagination project is for individuals interested in experiencing, learning, collaborating and sharing creative proposals that increase the reach and potential inherent in their VOICE – a medium of self-expression as much as a psychological and spiritual experience, and also a transformative / healing agent.

Our field of exploration and investigation begins with the fundamental recognition of the existence of an intrinsic interdependence between sound and images… sound, image-making and the Imagination.

A Sound Imagination comes into being from a creative meeting between the world of the VOICE and the world of Spiritual Psychology. Specifically, the project comes from a recognition of how the vision of C.G. Jung (1875–1961) was practiced by Alfred Wolfsohn, voice teacher (1896-1962). It was through these two figures that the wisdom of Jung´s Alchemical Psychology found themselves applied to the kingdom of the Voice, of that which Sounds.

We now know the alchemical principles that guided Wolfsohn in his ways of extending an individual´s possibilities of vocal expression, until suddenly something “true” crystalizes – a moment of profound connection and great lucidity for the person. Let us continue exploring, open to experiencing the true alchemy of the Voice.

From the “ícaros” (healing songs) of the healer/shamans in the Amazonia, to the songs and chants that are intrinsic to all spiritual practices, the voice is a medium for spiritual experience. Around the world, the use of the Voice is both a psychological and a spiritual experience. Our intention is to deepen and broaden what was initiated by all these teachers, by way of developing a truly Sound Imagination.
